There was a time—not too long ago—when the world slowed down in a way none of us expected.

During the COVID pandemic, like many families, we found ourselves at home more than ever before. The noise of daily life quieted, and in that stillness, something began to shift. What once felt like confinement slowly became an opportunity—an invitation to look around, reflect, and reimagine what was possible.

For our family, that meant looking out at our land and asking a simple question:

What if we used this space for something greater than ourselves?

And just like that, Miles Creek Farm was born.

🐓 Starting Small: Poultry and Purpose

We didn’t begin with a grand plan. We started small—with poultry.

There was something grounding about caring for animals, collecting fresh eggs, and reconnecting with the rhythm of the land. It reminded us that even in uncertain times, life continues to grow, nourish, and provide.

But farming, as we quickly learned, is a constant teacher.

🐝 The Turning Point: When the Bees Found Us

One season, we noticed something wasn’t quite right. Our produce wasn’t thriving the way we expected. Fruits weren’t bearing as they should. Something was missing.

That “something” turned out to be pollination.

Enter the bees.

What started as a solution quickly became a passion. Bees didn’t just help our crops—they transformed the entire ecosystem of our farm. Almost instantly, we saw the difference. Growth returned. Balance was restored.

And unexpectedly, bees became one of the most loved parts of Miles Creek Farm.

🌸 Growing Beyond: Flowers, Soaps, and Craft

With new life buzzing around us, we continued to grow.

We expanded into flowers, bringing beauty and color into our space. Then came goat milk soaps and honey soaps, inspired by the natural resources around us and our desire to create something meaningful and nourishing for others.

Each step wasn’t just about adding more—it was about deepening our connection to the land, to our values, and to the community we serve.

At the heart of Miles Creek Farm is something simple but powerful:

family values.

In a world that can often feel loud, divided, and overwhelming, we choose to stay grounded. We believe in kindness, in purpose, in doing things with intention. We believe that even small acts—whether it’s sharing eggs, tending bees, or creating something by hand—can have a meaningful impact.

Despite the noise and negativity around us, we hold firm to who we are and what we stand for.

If you had told us when we started this journey that we would one day become publishers, we probably would have smiled and said, “maybe someday.”

Well—that day has come.

Miles Creek Farm is now expanding beyond the land and into storytelling. Through our work as authors and creators, we hope to share lessons that matter—about kindness, friendship, boundaries, and the values that guide us.
